I was exhausted and was able to get Duke to play with the iPad so I could take a power nap. After that we picked up Will and went to Rita's because it was free. We met Erica there and the boys got cones.

Will secretly took a pic of me.

Washing down his "white" custard.

Today was full, but fun. Cort was at youth conference most of the day so I tried to find fun things to do to distract us from Dad not being there. We went to opening day festivities at Dell Diamond for the Round Rock Express. They had a lot of activities for kids and we all really liked it. The boys ran the bases, rode the train around the field, sat on Shetland ponies, pet/held/traumatized baby chicks, ducks, and bunnies, got a free helmet at the health fair, and played corn hole.

Sitting in the dugout.

There was a car show in the parking lot and we walked through a few isles and took this picture to send to Papa.
We came home and watched TV and played. Will loves basketball and he wanted to watch some, but only women's NCAA was on. He was NOT happy. He kept asking for "boys basketball". He kept himself busy shooting baskets in the driveway until he waited for men's basketball to start.
Duke kept filling up ziplock bags with water from the bathroom and dumping them in the planter box. He quickly made a puddle and was stirring his "pot" with a stick. He was taking orders on what to make and asked what I wanted. I said a pot of vegetable soup and he got right on it.
After Cort got home, we headed downtown to the Honk! TX street brass band competition. It was just north of campus and all these bands just play on street corners and parks. It's really fun. They dress really (really)weird, but the music is great and the people watching is even better. There was a stream running through the park where we were and the boys loved playing in it. Duke was "fishing" most of the time and Will was playing tag with other kids and stopping periodically to march with the beat.

Fishing. He keeps begging to go fishing for real. Daddy will take him for his birthday.

Keep Austin Weird is totally in force every time I'm near downtown.
