John Hughes (1950-2009)

The man behind almost every pop culture reference.

The first movie I fell in love with was Ferris Bueller's Day Off and I think one of the reasons why I loved it so much was because my brothers were babysitting me and specifically told me I was NOT to tell Mom and Dad that we had watched that movie, which inevitably made it cooler. It still remains one of my favorite movies to date.

All I have to say is they must have needed someone to make movies about adolescents coming of age on the other side of the veil.
